Softform

The treatment of very deep folds with inject able implants sometimes can be insufficient depending on the case. A good method of treatment for such problems is the application of Softform®.

Softform® is an implantable hollow tube, made from a material similar to that used for permanent vascular prostheses.

Softform® is a implantable hollow tube, made from a material similar to that used for permanent vascular prostheses. Placed under the desired region connective tissue can grow from both openings into the tube and thus fix the implant safely, so no dislocation occurs. Nevertheless the implant can be removed quite easily should this be desired at a later stage.

Indication

Softform® is mainly used for the correction of deep naso-labial folds, other facial folds and for the augmentation of lips. Very fine wrinkles are better treated with injectable implants or laser.

Treatment

After adequate preparation and local anaesthesia Softform® is implanted using a special application tool precisely into or rather under the region to be treated. To get access it is only necessary to make tiny incisions which later are practically invisible.

After the treatment

The incisions are closed using very fine sutures. That's why no water should be applied for about 1-2 days just to let the tissue heal. Also the use of make-up is not recommended for a couple of days to ensure that no irritation of the tiny incisions may occur.

Results

Directly postoperative one can view the result. A slight induration of the surrounding tissue may persist for some time but soon resolves and will almost not be noticeable anymore.
